AgroParisTech

Talents of a sustainable planet

AgroParisTech, National Institute of Technology for Life, Food and Environmental Sciences, is a public institution operating under the authority of the French Ministry of Agriculture. A key player in higher education and research, this leading international institution works to address the major challenges of the 21st century : feeding populations through sustainable land management, preserving natural resources, fostering innovation, and developing the bioeconomy.

A leading institution both in France and abroad and a key stakeholder in the world of higher education and research, AgroParisTech and the institutions from which it stems have, over a period now spanning nearly 200 years, brought together ever-stronger academic communities committed to offering solutions to the central challenges posed by the living world—fostering knowledge and understanding to enable humanity to better safeguard our ecosystems, feeding populations while preserving natural resources, and sustainably managing the environment. Together, we want to set the course for a sustainable world both today and in the future, in line with the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals.

To achieve this, AgroParisTech educates future engineers, executives, doctors, and managers in the fields of life sciences and the environment by exposing them to field work and research and by maintaining close partnerships with professional environments. AgroParisTech offers:

  • an engineering program;
  • an extensive selection of master’s degrees;
  • Ph.D. programs offered in association with prestigious French and international universities;
  • a continuing professional education offering made available under the “AgroParisTech Executive” brand

It also strives to reinforce the impact of its scientific activities on society by conducting cutting-edge, multidisciplinary, and interdisciplinary research (24 research units, 5 educational and research departments). These research activities also serve to enhance the course offering as early as the engineering program, and they offer an overall showcase for innovation and development at AgroParisTech—a source of both economic and non-economic benefits.

AgroParisTech is active across five major fields, which correspond to the industries of its staff and graduates:

  • agricultural and forestry resources;
  • the environment;
  • the agro-industrial transformation;
  • biotechnology,
  • all services that tie into production and sales activities.
