Integrative Chemistry and Innovation

Advantage of the programme

  • A broad training in fundamental chemistry with transdisciplinary courses with an integrative approach
  • A training for and by research through research-oriented classes and research internships in both the 1st and 2nd years
  • An awareness in current challenges and opportunities, with the possibility to follow dedicated courses in scientific and technological innovation

The Integrative Chemistry & Innovation master's degree is entirely taught in English. It is a transdisciplinary track exploring advanced topics in chemistry, through a la carte choice of transdisciplinary teaching units based on the up-to-date research developed at PSL university.

It leads to a broad range of career opportunities, including academic research, private sector research, development, production, innovation and entrepreneurship, scientific patenting, and consulting.

Master 1

During the first year, students follow basic courses for the 1st semester (Molecular design & synthetic tools, Analytical & physical chemistry, Theoretical chemistry & modelling, Smart materials chemistry, Maths & physics…). The second semester offers an in-depth study of the fundamental courses as well as a choice of courses to personalize the study program. For non-French speaking students, French lectures are mandatory.

Master  2

During the second year, students can choose several courses among a wide offer (more than 10 courses). The 2nd semester is entirely dedicated to the master’s thesis (research internship).
